MIRI: Since the movement control order (MCO) was announced last week, most eateries here have shifted to food delivery services as an alternative to reach their customers.
During this MCO period, all eateries and fast food restaurants have been told to only offer takeaway, prompting them to utilise food delivery services.
The New Sarawak Tribune observed that since the implementation of MCO, more than 100 food delivery riders were seen passing by to send food to their customers.
Food delivery rider Arby Enjob, said since day one of the MCO, he has been experiencing an increase in deliveries compared to before.
“I’ve had to do more than 30 trips per day,” he said when met at a roadblock held at Pujut 4 here yesterday.
When asked if he has met with interesting encounters, Arby said there was a customer who placed cash inside an envelope and left it on the gate for him to collect.
“It is a good approach to avoid direct contact,” he said.
