East Malaysia largest integrated senior wellness centre to open in Kuching

KUCHING: The city here is set to see the establishment of East Malaysia’s largest integrated wellness centre, dedicated to senior living and wellness.

Named Care Collective and estimated to launch in the first quarter of next year, it is a project by award-winning property developer Elica Equity Sdn Bhd and senior living specialist My Care Concierge Sdn Bhd (Care Concierge).

The centre will be housed in Wisma Elica, formerly known as Four Points by Sheraton Kuching Hotel or Century Kuching Hotel.

In conjunction with this development, a press conference on the Wisma Elica project was held, of which also saw the signing ceremony for the official establishment of Care Collective Sdn Bhd.

Elica was represented by its managing director Datuk Bobby Ting, and Care Concierge Care Centre Sdn Bhd were represented by My Care Concierge Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Martin Yap and its chief operating officer Justin Yap.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng was among those present to witness.

Earlier, in his speech, Wee lauded the proposed setting up of Care Collective.

“Elica Equity’s Care Collective initiative, focusing on senior wellness living, is one such example of how the company is shaping the future with compassion and foresight.

“By addressing the needs of our aging population, Care Collective redefines how we care for and celebrate our seniors, ensuring they enjoy lives of dignity and fulfilment,” he said.

He added the initiative reflects the spirit of collaboration and innovation that Kuching is known for.

“It aligns perfectly with our city’s vision of inclusivity and sustainability. Elica Equity’s work exemplifies the best of what can be achieved when business and community come together with a shared purpose,” said Wee.

Meanwhile, according to a press release by Care Concierge, it said the state-of-the-art facility offers a comprehensive approach to recovery, rejuvenation and revitalisation, combining senior living with advanced medical and wellness services in a luxury retreat atmosphere.

The wellness centre will feature 92 rooms across Independent Living Units (ILUs) and Assisted Living Units (ALUs); a rehabilitation centre; a senior clubhouse/day care facility; post-hospitalisation recovery programmes; traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services.

The wellness centre is designed to cater to a diverse clientele, including local retirees, seniors, post-hospitalisation patients, expatriates, and participants in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme.

As the largest facility of its kind in East Malaysia, it can accommodate up to 125 residents and will be managed by Care Concierge, which oversees nine assisted living facilities and daycare centres for seniors in Peninsular Malaysia.
