KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent of SJK Chung Hua No. 5 here is set to hold its second e-waste collection drive next week.

Taking place at the school premises, the event would provide the public with an opportunity to safely dispose of old and obsolete electronic items while contributing to a good cause.

According to the Malaysian Red Crescent Stampin Chapter in a statement, the activity will take place from Dec 27 to 29 from 8 am to 5 pm at the school premises.

Items such as computers, printers, mobile phones, cables, wires, lithium-ion batteries, kitchen appliances, and televisions will be accepted for disposal.

In addition to e-waste, the public is also encouraged to donate used clothing, old newspapers, plastic bottles, and other recyclable items. Proceeds from the sale of the collected items will be donated to charity.

Meanwhile, the initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability by providing a safe and proper avenue for disposing of electronic waste while supporting charitable causes.
