KUCHING: Two youths were lucky to escape a fiery end after their car they were in burst into flames and turned turtle near the roadside at Taman BDC yesterday.
Passers-by rushed to the burning car and dragged the two youths out as fire enveloped the car within minutes.
The university students were shaken by the incident, but lucky to be alive.
The driver said he was driving the car towards Penrissen Road when he lost control of the vehicle.
Both suffered broken arms and bodily injuries.
An eyewitness said she heard the car tyres screeching at about 9.15 pm and moments later saw the vehicle out of control before it overturned near the drain.
