SARATOK: A man escaped with minor injuries after his car skidded off the road and plunged into a drain near the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) Saratok branch today (Dec 23).

Firefighters from the Saratok station responded to an emergency call at 11.53 am and arrived at the scene to find the vehicle in the drain.

The driver, a 55-year-old man, was still inside the vehicle.

Firefighters conducted a rescue operation to extricate the victim, who was subsequently taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.

The operation ended after the situation was deemed safe.
