MIRI: A woman sustained shoulder and hand injuries after her pick-up truck skidded and crashed into a monsoon drain along Jalan Luak this morning (July 4).
Firefighters from Miri station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 11am.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the vehicle had crashed into the drain and the driver, a woman in her 40s, was still trapped in her seat.
The firefighters conducted a rescue operation to release the victim. She was carried out of the drain on a stretcher.
The woman, suspected to have sustained a fractured left shoulder and an open wound on her left hand, was administered treatment on-site before being taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation.
