Driver dies after lorry crashes into tree

LAWAS: A lorry driver succumbed to his injuries after his vehicle skidded and crashed into a tree along Jalan Gaya yesterday (Oct 19).

The accident happened at around 12.20 pm and firemen from Lawas station were deployed to the scene after being alerted of the crash.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed the accident where the lorry had landed on its side after crashing into a tree.

The team quickly attended to the driver identified as 38-year-old James John Albert, who was found lying near his lorry.

He was later rushed to Lawas Hospital but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Before concluding the operation, the team conducted flushing works to clear the road from oil spill and debris from the accident.
