KUCHING: The upgrading works for the drainage system in Kpg Bukit Pancur, Bau has been completed way ahead of its initial schedule.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang said originally slated for completion by May 15, the project was finished earlier, which was on Thursday, demonstrating the commitment and efficiency of all parties involved.
“This project, carried out by JNC General Contractor, is part of our continuous efforts to improve basic infrastructure for the well-being and safety of the local community.
“The scope of work included general site clearance, removal of existing drainage structures, and the construction of reinforced concrete (RC) drains, culverts, and other necessary infrastructure enhancements.
“The total cost of the project stands at RM199,980, covering 150 metre RC drainage system,” he said in a recent statement.
Lo added that the initiative aimed to improve the drainage system in Kampung Bukit Pancur, mitigating flood risks and ensuring better water flow management for the community.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to all parties involved, including the Bau District Council and the contractor for their dedication and commitment in completing this project ahead of time,” he added.
Lo stated that the Sarawak government remains committed to enhancing infrastructure development, particularly in rural areas, to uplift the quality of life for the people.
“Moving forward, we will continue to identify and implement more projects that benefit our communities,” he concluded.
