SIMANGGANG: Sarawakians, especially those in Simanggang should not be easily deceived by the ideology of those that could disrupt harmony, said Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
He said the people should just focus to further unite in fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Recently, there have been a lot of sensationalised conversations and these have caused a great distrust amongst well-meaning people,” he said during a cleaning campaign programme organised by the Sri Aman District Council (MDSA) at Rumah Chau Sambau in San Ugol, here recently.
Stressing on the need to adopt the new norms, Harden said that political stability of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government would ensure continuous development in the state.
“Now the spirit of cooperation is slightly eroded due to the political ideology brought by some political parties.
“In Sarawak, we have four GPS component parties, namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). Leaders in these component parties are experienced and have a direction.
“Parties like GPS can ensure political stability and the state would not be able to be easily manipulated by parties outside Sarawak,” he added.
Earlier, Harden presented grants amounting to RM5,000 to the village security and development committees (JKKK) of Rumah Chau Sambau, San Ugol and RM3,000 to its women bureau.
