BINTULU: Muaythai sports require athletes to have a high level of discipline, stressed president of the Sarawak Muaythai Association, Jumaat Ibrahim.
According to him, muaythai is not just a physical fight, but also an art that tests the determination, focus, and mental endurance of each athlete.
According to him, discipline in muaythai not only shapes champions in the ring but also as better individuals in life.
“Muaythai teaches us to respect our opponents, control our emotions, and adhere to strict training routines. Without discipline, it is impossible to achieve success in this sport.
“We want young people to see muaythai as a platform to build strong characters, not just to win matches but to become icons of discipline and perseverance,” he added.
He said this during his speech on the final night of the Bintulu Amateur Muaythai Championship (BAMC) Vol.2, here on Saturday night.
The presence of two local wrestlers, Azman Serigala and Hendo Ramli “The Bad Boy”, rocked the BAMC Volume 2 arena with extraordinary and dramatic actions.
Officer-in-Charge to the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia and Bintulu Member of Parliament, Steven Kong Kai Seng and Special Officer to the Jepak assemblyman, Shahrezy Sulaiman were also present to witness the tournament.
