SEMATAN: Discipline plays a pivotal role in shaping the integrity and professionalism of public health personnel, according to Opar assemblyman, Billy Sujang.
He said this during the closing ceremony of the Community Health Programme held in Kampung Sebako Multipurpose Hall 2 today.
He underscored that Public Health Assistants and Environmental Health Officers must embrace discipline as one of the three fundamental pillars of success in their duties alongside diligence and self-confidence.
“Discipline is not merely about punctuality or adherence to rules; it reflects the commitment and character of a public servant, especially in a field as vital as public health,” he said.
The closing ceremony of the three-day programme was joined by 43 trainees from the Ministry of Health Malaysia Training Institute (ILKKM) Kota Sentosa, who carried out health awareness activities and engaged with villagers on the importance of personal and community well-being.
Billy also urged the public and ILKKM trainees to remain proactive in maintaining good health and spreading awareness on health care practices.
“Community outreach like this is crucial in fostering a healthier society.
“It also provides our young trainees with hands-on experience and deeper understanding of grassroots needs,” he stated.
