The donation was presented on Saturday at Dragon Seafood Miri in Luak, owned by Chung Tai Yu.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of MDMC was the minister in charge, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, in a ceremony witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

As of February 1, Sarawak continues to grapple with severe flooding and landslides, forcing 12,486 people from 3,648 families into 62 temporary evacuation centres (PPS).
Miri itself has recorded 650 evacuees from 172 families, while Bintulu remains the hardest-hit district, with 5,885 evacuees from 1,649 families. Other severely affected areas include Serian and Samarahan.
The calamity has also claimed lives, with a landslide in Kampung Lereng Bukit, Miri, resulting in five fatalities. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and relief efforts are ongoing to support those affected.
The contribution from Chung Kien Ping is expected to bolster aid operations, providing much-needed support to displaced families and affected communities.
Local authorities continue to coordinate rescue and relief efforts, urging residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories.
