KUCHING: The Malaysian Information Department (Japen) is focussing on its Info on Wheels (IOW) programme to deliver the latest information directly to the people.
Its Sarawak director Swady Guliling said IOW has become one of the best strategies to disseminate information on government programmes through social media channels.
Today, Japen collaborated with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) on an IOW programme at Medan Niaga Satok here.
The programme was enlivened with side activities such as live busking by Pentarama Sarawak, exhibitions, and distribution of over 400 goody bags containing publications, posters and pamphlets relating to the new norm.
Public announcements were also made using a mobile unit vehicle throughout the programme. These emphasised new norm practices, SOP compliance, emergency proclamation, Covid-19 vaccination programme, and the 2021 Budget.
Swady said the IOW programme has been held in over 4,000 locations in 33 districts statewide this year, adding that the programme would be an ongoing activity of the department.
He said the programme has been hugely successful in educating the community especially with regard to cultivating the new norm.
