KUCHING: A shop owner who went to check on a tenant found him dead and in a decomposed state in his bedroom yesterday morning.
The shop owner said he had rented out the second floor of his shop to the deceased, identified as Nazlan Abd Rahim, 57, and other tenants.
He said that one of the tenants told him yesterday that there was a foul smell in the building, prompting him to carry out the check.
Nazlan is believed to have died three days ago. His remains were brought to the Sarawak General Hospital morgue for a post mortem.
Police called to the scene have classified the case as “sudden death”.
