BINTULU: Single Dayak beauties aged 18 to 30 are invited to participate in the 2024 Bintulu Division Kumang Gawai Dayak competition on June 14, which will be held at Dinner World Restaurant, here.
This competition, jointly organised by the Bintulu Resident and District Office, the Bintulu Development Board and Sarakup Induk Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Kemena and Bintulu, is open to all Dayak girls or women, or those with at least one Dayak parent, born in Bintulu.
The organiser’s spokesperson said the champion (Kumang) will take home RM10,000 along with a crown, accompanying trophy, sash and flower bouquet, while Lulong (2nd runner-up) will receive RM7,000 along with an accompanying trophy, sash and flower bouquet.
“Selinggar Matahari (third place) will win RM5,000 along with a sash, an accompanying trophy and a bouquet of flowers.
“The fourth to 10th place winners will each take home RM500 as a consolation prize,” she said.
In addition, the organisers also provided cash prizes of RM2,000 and scarves for the winners of ‘Ngepan Pemadu Manah’.
A participation fee of RM50 is charged for each participant and will not be refunded if any participant who has confirmed participation withdraws. The closing date for sending in the competition form is June 9.
