KUCHING: A total of 70 teams participated in the second Kuching City Open (KCO) Darts Championship held at Stadium Perpaduan here yesterday.
Apart from local teams which came from different districts, there were also teams from Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Sabah and West Malaysia.
The championship was launched by a member of the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), Dato Grunsin Ayom.
In his speech, Grunsin revealed that the championship would become an annual event in the DBKU calendar.
“I hope that during the championship, participants will be able to practise good sportsmanship despite winning or losing.
“I also hope that all current participants and the new ones will be taking part in our future KCO.
“Of course, sports is an avenue that promotes physical health, strengthens mental power and fosters new friendships.
Also present was the Deputy Director of DBKU, Hasbi Suhaili.
