The late Muhammad Hisyamuddin Mustapha died one semester away from completing his Master’s in Corporate Business Administration.

His scroll was received by his wife Nurliyana Amira Kamisly, 33, and was presented by Unimas chancellor and Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during the first day of the university’s 25th Convocation Ceremony on Monday (Feb 14).

When met by the media, Nurliyana said her late husband contracted Covid-19 last Oct 12.

She said that Hisyamuddin battled the virus for 16 days before he passed away on Oct 28. He was 32 at the time.

“During the period, he continued with his studies and all that’s left was his thesis. Most of his work was also done from home via online.”

Nurliyana described his late husband as a dedicated husband and a caring father of their six-year-old son.
