LIMBANG: The district police managed to apprehend a married couple who attempted to hoodwink the police by concealing ‘syabu’ (kind of drug) in a curtain knot inside their house during a raid conducted by a police team from the Limbang Narcotics Department.
According to Limbang District Police chief, Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai the raid was conducted on a house at Kampung Anak Bukit last Saturday morning where a man aged 33 years and his wife aged 29 years were arrested at 7.10am.
“Following a check, police found ‘syabu’ weighing 10.78 gram valued at RM3,000 concealed in a curtain knot inside the house.
“The male suspect was found to be positive for Amphetamine and Methampetamine while his wife was tested negative,” he told the media, yesterday.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
Meanwhile, a man was nabbed by police for selling illegal lotteries at Jalan Sungai Bangkita.
“The man was found with some cash, handphone, and other equipment which are believed used in the sale of illegal lotteries,” Mohd Bukhori said.
The case is being investigated under Section 4A9(a) of the Open Gaming House Act, 1953.
