SIBU: The three zone councillors for SibuJaya Kong Yii Tee, Halimah Japar and Matthew Chuat appreciate the support and close cooperation extended to them by Distrepark Sdn Bhd, the master developer of the vibrant township.
Speaking at a simple but fun gathering at the township, Kong said the developer had gone out of its way in creating a township that was lively and well-planned.
“My colleagues and I are mindful of the fact that the developer does not have to do a lot of the things that it is doing after handing over completed projects to the council.
“Yet they continue to help from landscaping to maintenance and from fun-filled events to serving as a bridge between the business community in SibuJaya with the Council,” she said.
On the simple but fun gathering, she pointed out that it was yet another indication of the supportive spirit of the developer as it came together with the three zone councillors to host the event at its sales gallery.
Kong hoped that the good ties would continue next year.
As SibuJaya continued to grow even bigger and the business precinct becamelarger, there was a more pressing need for all parties, residents, business community, the developer and the council to work even closer together, she stressed.
The rapidly expanding township with more than 6,000 homes and over 30,000 people would need everyone’s cooperation for it to become the model township it aimed to be.
Present at the gathering were Distrepark’s officials, representatives from the business community and a group of student volunteers who had been actively participating in the community services in SibuJaya.
