KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) is committed to inculcating the culture of recycling among food premise owners and the public.

In a statement today, MPP said their “Leaflets Distribution Programme of Environmental Awareness at MPP Food Premises 2022” is to raise awareness  on saying no to styrofoam containers, to recycle used cooking oil and soaking cutlery in hot water.

“The awareness programme is to ensure society increases the responsibility towards the surrounding environment to protect soil fertility, human life, clean air, safe water, and sanitation, where healthy food is available to all, cities are liveable, economies are climate-resilient and focused on health and well-being,” it said.

“We would like to encourage all the food establishments in MPP’s jurisdiction to join us in our efforts for a healthy and clean environment as it plays an important role in healthy living,” it added.
