MIRI: In anticipation for bulk waste due to the upcoming Hari Raya celebration, the Miri City Council (MCC) has provided 47 units of Roll-On/Roll-Off (RoRo) bins to housing estates.

The bins had been placed at 34 strategic locations to enable residents to properly dispose of their bulk waste.

They have been placed at Taman Tunku/Lambir Zone, Jalan Luak-Bakam Zone, Jalan Riam/Lopeng Zone, Krokop /Piasau Zone, Pujut Zone, Piasau Utara / Tudan Zone, Senadin Zon, Permyjaya Zone, and Lutong /Kuala Baram Zone.

This was said by the council in a statement today (April 27).

The council said that the cleaning campaign for Hari Raya is expected to start on April 30 and ends on May 11, depending on the location.

Hence, the council is hoping residents would utilise the provided bins and refrain from dumping rubbish indiscriminately as this will not only become an eyesore, but also create potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other diseases-bearing insects.
