LUNDU: A total of 20 elderly individuals and people with disabilities (OKU) from Zone Three Biawak received food basket donations in conjunction with a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme organised by the Lundu District Council (MDL).

MDL stated that the programme aims to involve the local community in social activities and provide benefits to those in need.

Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang who officiated the event, said that CSR programmes like this are very important as they not only provide assistance to the less fortunate but also strengthen community relations.

“Programmes such as community clean-up initiatives and the distribution of food baskets are key components of our efforts to ensure that every segment of society is cared for,” he said during the event held at the Multipurpose Hall of Kampung Pasir Hulu here recently.

The programme also demonstrates ongoing efforts to ensure that no group, especially the elderly and people with disabilities, is left behind in enjoying the basic facilities they deserve.
