KUCHING: Police are conducting further investigations following the discovery of an elderly woman in a drain at Kampung Tunku, Jalan Astana last Friday (Apr 25).
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, in a statement, said police received a report regarding the body’s discovery at 5.41 pm.
“The body, belonging to an 82-year-old woman, has been referred to the Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) Forensic Department for further action.
“Members of the public with any information regarding the incident, are urged to contact Gita police station chief ASP Syed Zainal Abidin at 019-5131156,” he said.
While the case remains under investigation, he urged the public to refrain from making any speculation about the incident.
Alexson said this was to ensure the investigation process proceeded smoothly and to respect the victim’s family.
