Cops pick up four for illicit drugs

BINTULU: Four men were detained by police on Wednesday (April 27) for illicit drug activities.

Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit said the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division detained the suspects during an operation in the district.

“The suspects, aged between 21 and 43 years, were involving in drug activities. One suspects is a drug distributor, and had on him 5.6 gram of methamphetamine.

“Following urine tests on the suspects they tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.

Three of them will be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 and the other suspect under Section 39A(1).

Batholomew advised the public to tip off the police at 086-318304 on any activities related to drugs.
