PADAWAN: Three individuals have been detained to facilitate investigations into the case of an eight-month-old baby who was injured and believed to have been bitten.
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, when contacted, confirmed that a police report regarding the incident was filed by the baby’s mother.
“The report was received at around 9.30 pm on Tuesday (Jan 7).
“We are investigating the case under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for negligence on the part of caretaker,” he said.
In addition, he also confirmed that three arrests, involving the nursery owner and caretakers, were made at around 7pm last night (Jan 8).
The incident gained public attention after a Facebook post, shared on Wednesday (Jan 8), went viral. The post, which included a photo of the baby’s injuries, revealed multiple bite marks on the infant’s body.
It had claimed that a two-year-old child had bitten the infant.
The post has since garnered over 1,800 reactions, 840 comments, and 3,600 shares, drawing widespread concern and outrage.
