KUCHING: Police here arrested a man who ran amok with a knife around Satok today (Sept 17).

The incident happened at noon when the suspect, believed to be homeless, was going around and pointing the knife at members of the public.

Fearing for their safety, they alerted the police of the incident.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah, who confirmed the case, said his team detained the man upon arriving.

“The 44-year-old man had been detained and taken to the mental hospital for further action.

“There were no injuries reported during the incident,” he said.
