MATU: Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya has underscored the importance of selecting capable contractors to ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

“If projects are completed within the specified timeframe, they will meet the expectations of the people.

“However, it is our concern to ensure that the contractors responsible for executing planned projects in this area are genuinely qualified,” said the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman).

He further emphasised that the department would always prioritise giving special attention to projects in the region.

He made these remarks during a media interaction following a working visit with the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) in Matu on Monday (Sept 18).

Juanda, who is also the Jemoreng assemblyman, disclosed that the project in question involves the construction of the Kampung Igan Road to Sungai Ilas Long House, Kampung Sah, and Kebuaw Batang Igan.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the next project slated for his area would involve upgrading the riverbanks in Kampung Baru Ismail Igan and constructing a new futsal field in Kampung Sok.
