SIBU: A total of RM45,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant allocations was distributed today to seven Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs), schools, and associations in the Bawang Assan constituency.
The grant recipients included the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rantau Panjang Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), the SK Nanga Tutus PTA, SK Tanjung Penasu PTA, the JKKK of Rumah Unjah Sungai Melangan, the Sibu Community Service Association, the Sungai Merah Lion Club, and the Commander Hui Hui Temple.
The grants were presented by Bawang Assan assemblyman Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh at the Bawang Assan Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) office.
“I know what has been given may not be enough, but we will try to help everyone in need. Many have applied, and we strive to distribute fairly.
“I hope everyone will be happy and able to use this allocation for the planned activities,” Wong said in his speech during the programme.
Wong also emphasised the importance of providing proof of expenditure, such as reports and receipts, to avoid any issues in the event of an inspection by authorities.
“I hope this funding will be used wisely, and the recipients will ensure complete documentation for every expense,” he added.
