MUKAH: The impact of novel coronavirus 2019 (2019-nCov) is far and wide to the extent of causing the prices of computers and accessories to increase.

A computer sales and service outlet proprietor here yesterday claimed that the prices of computers, laptops as well as accessories had gone up.

According to him, the rate of increase is drastic and quite high and stocks are running out.

He added that the coronavirus had greatly affected the movement of goods such as computers, laptops, accessories and spare parts from China.

“On one hand, traders and shipping companies from China cannot simply leave the country in face of the coronavirus outbreak there.

“On the other hand, traders and shipping companies from outside China are also scared to go to China because of the coronavirus threat,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

He added both situations had directly resulted in the low supply of computers, laptops, accessories and spare parts in the market currently.
