MUKAH: A total of 2,000 packets of bubur lambuk were distributed to residents here yesterday as part of a community initiative by Cats FM and Tabung Haji Sarawak to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan.
Volunteers from various community groups came together to prepare and distribute the traditional porridge, ensuring the programme’s success.
Present to officiate at the event was Deputy Minister for Economy Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib. In the evening, she also joined the Cats FM Iftar Programme at Masjid Setia Raja, which was attended by more than 500 residents.

The gathering was further enriched by the distribution of essential food items and duit raya to children. A tahlil prayer was also held in memory of Hanifah’s late parents, the late former Sarawak governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and the late Puan Sri Datuk Patinggi Dr Laila Taib.
The Mukah MP expressed hope that such initiatives would not only strengthen community ties but also provide support to those in need, particularly children, as they prepare for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Also present were Sabah and Sarawak Regional Director of Tabung Haji, Datuk Nurlaila Said, and Managing Director of Kristal Harta Sdn Bhd (Cats FM), Mohd Iskandar Mohd Nawawi.
