Common Ground restaurant offers Ramadan Mukbang Ala Carte Buffet

KUCHING: Common Ground restaurant in Saradise here invites the public for a ‘Ramadan Mukbang Ala Carte Buffet’.

The restaurant’s chief of operations, Chin, said the buffet is priced at RM50 for adults and RM28 for children, aged 5 to 12 years old, however, for children below 4 years old, it is free of charge.

“For this ala carte buffet, you can come and eat everything, the adults can come and order as much as they want for RM50 and it’s the same for the children, but at RM28.

“Come into the restaurant, scan the menu and choose the food options and order them through the online system,” she said.

Those keen on the buffet offer need to make early reservations and contact Common Ground through Instagram.

“Customers are urged to contact us on Instagram or give us a call first and make reservations, just in case we are full.

“We can fit at least 80 people on two floors of the building, however, we may open the third floor section if both floors are full,” she told New Sarawak Tribune recently during a pre-Ramadan dinner.

For the record, mukbang, which originates from Korea, refers to live-streamed or pre-recorded videos of content creators eating while interacting with audiences.

In a similar development, Common Ground restaurant is also doing a Ramadan mukbang challenge which requires participants to post a Tiktok or Instagram video and #CGmukbangchallenge.

“Whoever gets the highest viewers, they have a chance of winning RM300 from March 12 until April 9, and we will announce the winner on April 16,” Chin said at Common Ground’s Iftar Celebration at Saradise Kuching, which included social media influencers, food reviewers, food bloggers, and the media.

“Today’s event is actually for iftar, for Ramadan and then tonight the invitation is only for the reporters, influencers, bloggers and Tiktokers to come and gather.

“Last year we had Ramadan dinners, so this is a gathering for those that have shown support to Common Ground, appreciation to those that have been supporting Common Ground,” she added.

Common Ground is a classy and trendy Korean food restaurant that serves tasty, delicious and savoury Korean food.
