MUKAH: The development and progress of football is not an easy thing to achieve in a short time.
According to Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi, it requires determination, commitment and continuous efforts from all parties.
“This involves all levels of football management starting from the top down to the lowest organisational level.
“If you look at it, the sport of football nowadays really needs individuals who are progressive, innovative and creative in determining what is best for this sport.
“Because of that, we need coaches who are always proactive and creative with current knowledge and skills as well as innovative looking for opportunities to expose themselves to new things,” he said.
He said this in the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) / Sarawak Football Association (FAS) Mukah 2023 Football Coaching Course Postponement Ceremony, at the Kingwood Hotel, here, yesterday.
The course, which was held for six days, was attended by 19 participants from various parts of Sarawak.
“It is hoped that the participants of this course will be able to apply as best as possible the knowledge gained and be utilised for the development and progress of football in Mukah.
“With this course, I believe various important elements have been learned to give understanding and skills as a football coach,” he said.
He also said that knowledge and skills must be inculcated in prospective coaches so that they have the practice and values of professionalism, especially in the field of football coaching.
“This is because it gives an impression to the community about the high commitment and dedication in the effort to develop the sport of football,” he added.
Therefore, he hopes that the course participants, who are future coaches, share the knowledge and skills they have acquired with other friends for the benefit of football.
Also present was the president of the Sarawak Football Association Abang Zulkarnain Abang Abdul Rahman.
