KUCHING: The Gawai Dayak Coffee Table Book 2024 has been officially launched to document the cultural heritage and history of the Gawai Dayak celebration, ensuring its legacy is preserved for future generations.
Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn described the book as a significant milestone in safeguarding the essence of Gawai.
“This book is not just a collection of photographs but a tribute to tradition, a cultural documentation, and a legacy for the future,” he said.
Sagah, who represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, said this in his speech at the Gawai Dayak 2024 Appreciation ceremony and book launch on Thursday (Mar 27).
He said Gawai is more than just a festival — it symbolises heritage, unity, and the pride of the Dayak community.
“This book is expected to serve as an important reference for younger generations to better understand the cultural and historical significance of Gawai,” said Sagah.
