MIRI: An ‘unwanted’ visitor shocked a family of six in Kampung Siwak Jaya, Bakam on Tuesday evening.

The 14-foot long king cobra was spotted slithering into the wooden house, terrifying the occupants.

One of them immediately called the Miri Civil Defence (APM) for help.

In the 4.55pm incident, most of the family members were sitting in the living room watching television when one of them screamed at the sudden appearance of the 6kg reptile.

An APM team that responded to the call for help took almost an hour to catch the snake and secured the house.
