BALAI RINGIN: A clean water supply project, with a budget of RM200 million, is set to be launched in Balai Ringin this August. The project will be carried out in two phases by the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB).

According to Balai Ringin assemblyman, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, the first phase will begin in August and will bring clean water from Balai Ringin township to Kampung Temiang in Simunjan. He said this while officiating at the Balai Ringin District-level Gawai Carnival on Saturday.

Snowdan, who is also the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, highlighted that the Greater Kuching Coordinated Development Agency (GKCDA) was allocated RM50 million for implementing various development projects in the area.

During the ceremony, Snowdan also presented appointment certificates to nine longhouse chiefs in Balai Ringin.

Also present were the Special Administrative Officer of the Balai Ringin District Office and Chairman of the Management Committee Mohammad Adam Muslim, Deputy Resident of Serian Division Caroline Cleopas Joseph, Temenggong Harison Lunsa, Penghulu Pelie Jumbu, and Penghulu Lama Bungkol.
