KUCHING: Members of the public are encouraged to come over to Aeroville Shopping Mall and E-Mart Batu Kawa to claim their free MyTV decoders from Feb 15 to 18.

A total of 5,000 MyTV decoders have been set aside for distribution at Aeroville Shopping Mall (Feb 15 to 16) and E-Mart Batu Kawa (Feb 17 to 18).

As of 9am yesterday, over 250 decoders have been collected by the recipients from the B40 group. During the four-day distribution at both locations, 1,250 decoders have been set aside for collection each day.

“This is in conjunction with the federal government’s plan to digitalise all the television (TV) broadcasting” said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Chong Chieng Jen when met by reporters at Aeroville Shopping Mall yesterday.

Chong said he made a special arrangement through MCMC to negotiate with the company and arrange for their staff to fly in and make the distribution.
