KUCHING: Every civil servant must continuously strive to strengthen and improve the quality of service delivery to the people.

Sarawak Federal Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Nadzri, said that integrity is not merely a principle, but a trust that must be upheld throughout one’s duration of service.

At the same time, the value of integrity must remain firm, in line with the oath taken when beginning duties in the public service.

“We are not only tasked with implementing policies, but also bear the great responsibility of safeguarding confidential documents and official government information,” he explained.

He said this when met by reporters at the Mesra MADANI Aidilfitri Programme at the Federal Complex in Jalan Simpang Tiga here today.

Ahmad further reminded all civil servants, especially those serving in Sarawak, to uphold integrity within themselves.

Commitment to integrity should not cease midway, but must be upheld until the end of service, he said.

“In fact, whether through retirement or any form of service termination, each of us carries the good name of the public service.

“Therefore, guard your integrity just as you guard your dignity, because this trust is not only to the government, but to the people as a whole,” he added.
