SIBU: Catholic High School (CHS) is organising a Run for the Future to raise fund for the running of the school.
Principal, Brother Anthony Tay while speaking at a press conference yesterday said they were targeting to raise RM100,000.
“We are hoping to have at least 2,000 participants so that we can meet our target of RM100,000. So we hope former students and the general public will support us by taking part,” he added
Ta Ann Group of Companies, he said would bear for all expenses incurred in the run which include the cash prizes, medals, and race kits for the participants.
The run is on July 22. It is divided into 21km, 10km, 5km open for male and female open and student male and female open.
Entry fee is RM50 each. The closing date for registration is on May 31. Entry forms are available at the school. Attractive cash prizes are up for grabs for the top three winners of each category.
Tay said the school had been organising fund raising walkathons since the 1980s.
“But this time we want something bigger in conjunction with the anniversary celebration of our alumni association this year plus our school 60th anniversary next year. That is why we are organising a run,” he added.
The run is open to Malaysians only. However, foreign workers of Ta Ann Group could participate through invitation only.
