BINTULU: A total of 30 students and two teachers from Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College in ShaoXing, China visited Universiti Putra Malaysia’s (UPM) Bintulu Campus.
The eight-day visit from Aug 16 was was a platform to give exposure to students, UPM Bintulu Campus said in a statement.
It involved lectures and knowledge sharing sessions aimed at introducing the Chinese delegation to Malaysian culture, education and society.
Among the activities held is a Malay language course by a Chinese-speaking lecturer.
“The aim was to help participants master the basics of the Malay language, which is used in daily social interaction,” said UPM Bintulu.
This was followed by a special session on Malaysian heritage, art and culture.
Participants were also briefed on Malaysia’s economic development, including on crises and the solution methods deployed by the country.
“This knowledge is crucial for students to stay competitive globally, particularly regarding crisis preparedness and financial management,” he said.
A briefing on the Malaysian education system explained how it creates highly skilled human capital through education from preschool to higher education to foster creativity and innovation.
