KUCHING: Chinese independent schools, with its deep-rooted traditions and emphasis on academic excellence have played a vital role in shaping the educational landscape of Sarawak.

Permanent Secretary of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Ministry, Adanan Jed said their commitment to nurturing well-rounded students who are not only academically proficient but also grounded in strong values has contributed significantly to the social fabric of the state.

 “In the spirit of unit and progress, the ministry believes strongly in fostering collaboration between all schools both public and private to ensure a cohesive and inclusive educational experience for all.

“Chinese independent schools, with your district ethos, can offer valuable insights and perspectives that will enrich our education system.”

He said this in his speech, representing Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee during a sharing session with students, teachers and staff of Chung Hua Middle School No. 3 here today (Jan 9).

In the meantime, Adanan said that Chinese independent schools are well placed to be key partners in achieving the goals of fostering critical thinking, creativity and entrepreneurial skills, with their dedication to high academic standards and holistic development.

“We are living in an era of rapid technological advancement, and the future of education is digital and the ministry is committed to support that all schools in the state have the resources and support they need to integrate technology effectively into the learning process.

“Chinese independent schools, with your adaptability and forward-thinking approach, can play a crucial role in this digital transformation.

“By embracing technology and innovative teaching methods, the schools can provide students with an education that prepares them for the challenges of tomorrow.”

Adanan noted that Chinese independent schools have always placed a strong emphasis on moral education.

“And I encourage all of you to continue nurturing not just intellect but also the heart and spirit of your student.”

Also present during the ceremony were chairman of Chung Hua Middle School Management Board No. 1, 3 and 4, Datuk Richard Wee; and other distinguished guests.
