KUCHING: The ball never seems to stop rolling when you play against a Super League team where you spend much of the time chasing the ball.

Kuching FA coach Ideris Untong said this ahead of their game against Felda United in the second round of the FA Cup next month.

The former Sarawak player said all Super League players played a fast and tough game and as such, Ideris would plan the training sessions, especially on strategy and tactics, before the showdown at the State Stadium on April 2
or 3.

“The strategy has to be changed. The players’ fitness must also be enhanced and we will focus more on tactics.”

Kuching FA coach, Ideris Untong.

“Felda are a very formidable side. They have players of high calibre comprising former JDT and Selangor players,” said Ideris.

Nevertheless, Kuching FA hold the advantage of playing at home besides having played a friendly match against Felda during pre-season.

Despite losing 2-0, Kuching FA have gain an insight into the team’s strength and weakness.

“We had a few chances, which is a good sign. Playing at home will give us more confidence and boost the morale of the players,” said Ideris.

Kuching FA have won twice — in the qualifying and first rounds — enroute to the second round.

In the qualifying, they beat Armed Forces 4-2 at home on penalties, and they beat FC Pemanis 3-0 away in the first round.

Ideris said his boys had shown excellent teamwork and understanding.

Meanwhile, Kuching FA led by Joseph Kalang Tie and other former Sarawak players will play a M3 League match on March 16 before taking on Felda United.
