KUCHING:   64 gamers participated in the second PS4 FIFA 2017 Championship held at Kompleks Islam Sarawak here yesterday. It was organised by Kelab Sukan Rekreasi SPC Petra Jaya in collaboration with the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Wing and OBYU Holdings.

Tupong State Assemblyman, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman graced the opening ceremony. In his speech, he said: “Yes, it is good to get involved in competitive games.

“However, keep it balanced. Do not neglect your education and stay focused on it.” Meanwhile, President of the Kelab Sukan Rekreasi SPC Petra Jaya, Mohammad Hafeez Arfan, 27, explained that the championship was being held for the second time.

Last year, it was held at the Hills Shopping Mall.

Hafeez said the third championship would take place next year. The winner of the championship walked away with RM1500, a trophy and a certificate while the second place winner and third place winner received RM1100 and RM800 respectively plus a trophy and a certificate each.

Meanwhile, the fourth place winner and fifth place winner went home with RM400 and RM350 respectively plus a trophy and a certificate each.
