KUCHING: The grand finale of the Kenyalang Sepak Takraw League (KSL) Edition II 2022 will come to an end late this (Sunday) afternoon to determine the champions of the tournament.

It is scheduled to take place at 2:30 pm this afternoon at the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Multipurpose Hall in Petra Jaya with both of the semi-final matches to be held earlier in the morning today.

The tournament’s opening ceremony yesterday was officiated at by the CEO of SSC, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, and attended by the President of the Sarawak State Sepak Takraw Association (PSS) Datuk Ismail Abang Saufi, and other exco members.

In his speech, Awang Putrayusrie congratulated the organisers on the success of the tournament’s second season, which was achieved through close cooperation with the PSS and all parties involved.

“Thanks to the PSS for their cooperation in managing the tournament.

“I believe that the tournament will showcase the emergence of new talented players who can be brought on to play on a higher level,” he said.

He also expressed hope that the tournament can identify young talented players who can be used to form the team for the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

The grand finale of KSL 2022 features 14 outstanding teams representing seven participating divisions namely Miri Sea Horse (A & B), Sri Aman Gators (A & B), Kuching Knights (A & B), Mukah Majors (A & B), Samarahan Brilliant (A & B), Sibu Titans (A & B), and Bintulu Bravo (A & B).
