LUNDU: Youth from other states now have the chance to gain valuable skills at the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Development Programme.

CENTEXS chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani said the programme is a joint effort between Human Resource Development (HRD) Corp and CENTEXS Commercial.

“This initiative is crucial to ensure that the training offered is not just talk and to demonstrate that TVET graduates are truly qualified for various industries, including high-growth and high-value sectors,” he said at the launch of CENTEXS Commercial TVET HRD Corp Initiative and eSports Training Hub and Certification Academy today (Oct 5).

Morshidi said this programme could help reshape the field’s image and meet current job market demands.

“We understand that securing employment is a major challenge for today’s youth,” he said.

“They must now compete in terms of basic skills, technical skills, and other competencies like AI mastery, computing, and more. These advantages are highly valued by employers as they showcase the candidate’s practical value in the job market.”
