KUCHING: Centenarian Chan Sui Guan, the father of Sarawak Australia Business Chamber (SABC) president Rodger Chan, died on Tuesday (Jan 28). He was 104.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Rodger said his father passed away on the eve of Chinese New Year, a time typically filled with joy and family togetherness.

As newspapers were not published during the holidays, news of his death was shared via social media, with Rodger personally notifying the public.

Among those who paid their last respects were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier cum Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Women, Childhood, and Community Well-being Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Lo Khere Chiang and Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment adviser Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais.
