KUCHING: Athira Ghanie, 29, and her husband Rasyid Alam Shah Anugraha, 32, are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
The couple who tied the knot four years ago were, after all, officially engaged on a Valentine’s Day.
“I did not know he was going to propose to me. I thought it was just a romantic dinner,” recalled Athira.
Rashid said Valentine’s Day was a good day for men to propose as there were many offers and promotions on that day.
“This year, there will be three of us celebrating Valentine’s Day,” he said, alluding to his cute little daughter.
Redha Taha, 26, who is working in Kuala Lumpur, told New Sarawak Tribune that he decided to share his love with the city’s vagrants along Chow Kit Road on Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s Day is not only about candlelight dinners but also sharing love with other people, especially homeless children,” he explained.
As for newlywed couple, Nur Arina, 26, and Muhd Dzul Fikar, 28, they will not be celebrating Valentine’s Day.
They don’t think you need a particular day to show your love or appreciation for anyone.
Explained Dzul: “For example, I cook everyday for my wife to show my love.”
