Man bashed up for having affair with married woman
SIBU: A 21-year-old shop assistant was assaulted by a group of men for allegedly having an affair with a woman whom he thought was single.
The victim and the woman were caught by the woman’s husband at 10.56pm on Thursday in a hotel room at Jalan Foochow here.
Two men who came with the woman’s husband assaulted the victim who sustained injuries on his body, face and chest.
The victim got acquainted with the 20-year-old woman who is a supermarket cashier on social media three months ago. He claimed he was not aware that the woman was married.
Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit confirmed the case when contacted and said both the victim and woman had been brought in for questioning.
“The victim claimed that RM2,400 which was in a bag was snatched by the group of men in his hotel room,” he added.
Stanley said the victim did not report the matter to the police as he was scared of being further assaulted by the men.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for voluntary causing hurt.
