KUCHING: Blue lights were installed around the Cat Statue opposite the Grand Margherita Hotel, in conjunction with World Diabetes Day 2017.

The symbolic launching ceremony was officiated by Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) director, Jumaini Haili on Tuesday night, representing the DBKU Mayor, Datuk Haji Abang Wahap Haji Abang Julai.

The ceremony was also attended by members of Malaysian Diabetes Association, Sarawak Branch and led by its chairman, Dr. William Voon Yu Huat. The blue lights will remain at the Cat Statue for the next two weeks in remembrance of those suffering from diabetes.
