BINTANGOR: Shivers ran down the spine of Taman Foh Phin residents when they spotted a two-metre long crocodile ambling along the road last night.

Bintangor Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia (JBPM) chief, Nicholas Belulin, thinks the reptile came from Sungai Meradong, which is just 500 metres away from the neighbourhood.

He said after the public contacted the distress number at 7pm, a JBPM team rushed over and captured the creature using a snare, some rope and a cloth.

“After it was caught, it was taken to the fire station,” he said.

Nicholas said the crocodile was handed over to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation at 9.45am today. – Bernama
