KUCHING: The present draft of the Parliamentary Special Select Committee’s Anti-Party Hopping Bill (PSSC) has received Cabinet approval, said Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

According to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), the cabinet was informed about the proposed constitutional amendment to the Federal Constitution regarding the subject of party hopping yesterday.

“Attorney-General Tan Seri Idrus Harun explained the constitutional amendment to the Cabinet, and they had no objections to the drafted proposal,” he said in a press statement today.

Wan Junaidi also indicated that the Cabinet has sought further investigation and refinement of two issues, but he did not specify.

Overall, the Bill has been evaluated by the Cabinet and will be presented to the PSSC for review on June 7 before being finalised.
